Welcome to summer at Thimble Bee’s. We’re so glad you’re here. Whether your child is brand new to sewing or building on skills they’ve already started, our camps are designed to give them hands-on experience in an encouraging environment. With small group sizes and step-by-step instruction, students don’t just “try” sewing; they learn it, practice it, and leave with projects they’re proud of!
Camp Overview
Our summer camps are designed to give students a hands-on sewing experience in a warm, structured environment. Each camp is thoughtfully planned to match your child’s age, experience level, and pace of learning.
- Ages: 7–14 (see “Choosing the Right Camp” below for guidance)
- Group Size: Limited to 12 students per camp
- Instruction: Small-group teaching with a 1:4 instructor-to-student ratio
- Camp Length: 4-day camps, 3 hours per day
- Session Options: Morning 9:00–12:00 and Afternoon 1:30–4:30 (unless otherwise stated on camp description)
During camp, students are guided step-by-step through their projects, with time to learn, practice, and complete their work.
Choosing The Right Camp
We want your child to feel confident and set up for success during their time at Thimble Bee’s. Choosing the right camp based on age and experience makes all the difference in their overall experience.
- Ages 7:
Students should begin with our Sew much Fun: Beginner Sewing Camp. These camps iare designed to introduce foundational skills at a steady pace. Many students at this age benefit from taking more than one beginner session, as repetition helps build confidence. - Ages 8 and up:
Students must complete a Beginner Sewing Camp (or have equivalent experience) before enrolling in specialty camps such as Fashion Week, American Girl Doll Camp, or Quilt Camp. - Beginner Camps:
Best for students with little to no sewing experience. These camps move at a steady pace with step-by-step instruction and plenty of guidance. - Specialty Camps (Fashion, American Girl Doll, Destination Camps):
These camps assume students are already comfortable using a sewing machine and can follow multi-step directions with some independence. - Quilt Camp:
This is our most focused and goal-oriented camp. It moves at a quicker pace and is best suited for students who already have sewing experience and are ready for a challenge.
If you’re unsure which camp is the best fit, we’re always happy to help guide you.
Camp Policies & Refunds
Due to the limited number of seats in each camp and the advance preparation required for materials and staffing, all summer camp registrations are non-refundable.
If your plans change, we will make every effort to fill your child’s spot. If the space is filled, a refund may be issued. If we are unable to fill the spot, a credit will be applied to your account and may be used toward a future class, camp, or workshop.
We understand that unexpected situations can arise and will always do our best to work with families when possible.
Drop-Off & Pick-Up
Please plan to arrive 5–10 minutes before your child’s camp start time. This allows for a smooth check-in and helps us begin on time.
At pick-up, we ask that parents arrive promptly at the end of the session. For your child’s safety, only authorized individuals listed at registration may pick up.
If you anticipate being late, please let us know as soon as possible.
What to Bring
- Water bottle
- Snack (morning or afternoon sessions) / Lunch (full-day students)
- Closed-toe shoes
- Any personal items clearly labeled
Students do not need to bring a sewing machine. All tools and equipment are provided in the studio.
Is This a Good Fit?
Our camps are a great fit for students who:
- Are comfortable working in a small group setting
- Can follow step-by-step directions
- Are ready to work on projects over multiple days
This helps ensure each student has a positive and successful experience in the studio.
Safety
Student safety is a top priority.
All students are taught how to safely use sewing machines and tools, and are closely supervised throughout each session. Instruction is age-appropriate and slow paced to ensure understanding.
Photos & Media
We love sharing what students create in the studio. Photos may be taken during camp and used for marketing or social media.
If you prefer that your child not be photographed, please let us know prior to the start of camp.
