Learn To Quilt II

Learn To Quilt II

In Learn to Quilt II, we’ll continue building on the skills you learned in Learn to Quilt I as we make the beautiful Star Patched Lovers quilt by Copper Kettle Quilt Co.

Ready to build on the skills you learned in Learn to Quilt I? In Learn to Quilt II, we’ll take the next step in your quilting journey as you learn classic quilt blocks, improve your piecing accuracy, and gain the confidence to create more advanced quilt projects.

Throughout this 9-week course, you’ll learn how to construct a traditional Nine Patch block, master Flying Geese units, and create the timeless Sawtooth Star block. Along the way, we’ll focus on the techniques that help quilters achieve beautiful results, including accurate cutting, nesting seams, matching points, pressing for precision, and squaring up blocks.

This class is designed to help you understand not only how to make a quilt, but why certain techniques matter. We’ll take our time learning each skill, practicing together in class, and building confidence before moving on to the next step.

Once your blocks are complete, you’ll learn how to arrange your quilt, assemble rows, and finish a complete quilt top. We’ll also cover how to prepare your quilt for a professional longarm quilter, including backing requirements, batting options, and quilting design considerations.

To finish the course, we’ll spend two weeks focused on binding—one of the most important skills every quilter should know. You’ll learn how to prepare and attach binding, create crisp mitered corners, and finish the back of your quilt using both hand and machine techniques.

By the end of Learn to Quilt II, you’ll have a completed quilt top, a deeper understanding of quilt construction and finishing, and the confidence to tackle future quilt projects with greater independence.
