Teaching children (adults too!) the basics of sewing in a creative, encouraging, and fun atmosphere!
Are you interested in learning how to sew? Our six-week Learn To Sew Series is the perfect introduction to the basics before moving on to our exciting weekly classes, such as Fashion Kids + Teens or Sewing Is Art. Even the youngest of creatives, aged 7 and up, can participate in the sewing shenanigans. Don’t worry; we haven’t forgotten about the grown-ups; we have many options for you as well!
Our upcoming fashionistas will have an array of sewing ideas at their fingertips, each one custom-fit to their style and level of expertise. From cute and easy shorts, shirts, and dresses to comfy rompers and pj pants, the possibilities are endless! Plus, our Sewing Is Art students can master the craft with a host of quirky projects, such as funky bags, snuggly pillows, wall hangings, and even adorable plushies.Learn More

Mrs. Jen has been teaching children of all ages and skill levels since 2009. Her approach to teaching is individualized and focuses on a building block method. She takes pride in simplifying the complexity of sewing into easy-to-understand lessons for her students. Mrs. Jen’s passion for all things sewing is infectious and she loves nothing more than sharing it with the younger generation.
Hi, I’m Jen!
Jen Taylor, Owner
I started Thimble Bee’s in 2009 to share my love and joy for sewing with the next generation. I’m so blessed to have met so many families in the Charlotte area and I’m glad you’re here. I hope you find Thimble Bee’s a comfortable place to learn, be encouraged, and grow in your skill every day.
Come learn with us!
We would love for you to join us at our studio in Waxhaw!

My daughter has really enjoyed her time learning how to sew. The teachers are friendly, patient and knowledgeable.
My daughter had an amazing time making several items for her American Girl dolls. The owner and instructors are very patient and instill a wonderful sense of confidence in their campers.
