Sewing Machine Basics
If you’ve ever looked at your sewing machine and thought, “I’d love to learn, but I don’t even know where to start,” this class is for you.
This class is designed for true beginners—no experience needed. We’ll start at the very beginning with your sewing machine, walking through each part and how it works, and then move into guided, hands-on practice so you can begin sewing with confidence.
By the end of class, you’ll have a solid foundation and the skills you need to start creating on your own.
- How to thread your sewing machine and wind a bobbin with confidence
- How to find and sew accurate seam allowances
- How to sew straight lines, curves, and clean corners
- How to press and finish seams
We use the Brother CP100x in the classroom. You’re welcome to bring your own machine to class. Please email us at ThimbleBees@gmail.com to have your make/model approved. If you’re bringing your own machine to class, you will also need to bring your own needles and bobbin.
