This rotating six-week class is designed to strengthen your foundational sewing skills by guiding you through a single, wearable project each session. In this first installment, you’ll make the McCall’s 8147 View B blouse, a versatile, classic piece that’s not only fun to create but also packed with essential techniques you’ll use time and time again.

Throughout the course, we’ll dive into the core apparel techniques that make garment sewing both rewarding and achievable.

By working with a commercial pattern, you’ll:

  • Gain confidence reading pattern instructions
  • Understand cutting layouts
  • Learn how to handle fabric for optimal results

Learn or build on foundational sewing techniques like:

  • Seam finishes
  • Pressing for crisp edges
  • Constructing details to bring your garment to life

These are skills that you’ll carry over to future sewing projects, whether you’re tackling your own blouse or venturing into more advanced apparel.
