Have you always wanted to learn how to sew but didn’t know where to start? Whether you’ve never touched a machine or it’s been years since you’ve tried, this class was created just for you.
In Learn to Sew I, you’ll receive patient, step-by-step instruction in a calm, encouraging environment designed for absolute beginners. We’ll start with the essentials—how to thread and operate a sewing machine, sew straight and curved seams, troubleshoot common issues, and understand the tools and language of sewing. You’ll complete a simple, beginner-friendly project designed to help you apply what you’re learning as you go.
Machines and tools are available in the studio, and you can download the supply list for your project below so you know exactly what to bring.
By the end of the course, you’ll feel confident using a sewing machine on your own and have a strong foundation to build on. If you’re excited to keep going, Learn to Sew II is your next step. In that course, we’ll continue developing your skills while teaching you how to read and interpret commercial sewing patterns—helping you make sense of layouts, terminology, and instructions so you can start sewing garments with clarity and confidence.
